Sharing Your Cup #5 - Meaningful Labour
I woke this morning on Labour Day making an effort to enjoy my last day of summer break. I return back to work tomorrow to prepare for another year of teaching.
Many of us get up every morning dreading to leave the house to face another day at work. Our labour seems to be taking up too much time and energy for us to really enjoy the things we want to enjoy. But recently I have learned that God intends for us to enjoy the work we do. After nine years of working, I finally sought out God's will for me. Even though my plan for a "better" job was completely different than what he has given me, I realized that for the first time in nine years I am overflowing with excitement and joy when I think about going back to work.
It took nine years of misery for me to have the courage to move with God. It is not easy to make a move but for me it was definitely worth it. How about you? Do you love your work? Can you give thanks and praise for where you work? Or do you need some prayers to help make a change ? Share your story in the comment section, I would love to know and pray for you!
For those who love their job and for those who need encouragement to make a change, I thought you might enjoy this video "Labor Day Inspiration", I really enjoyed it myself:
As well at the end of this month, I will draw a winner from the comment section for this handmade prize:
Every month I send out a little prize/gift to one winner chosen from the comment section (just my way of blessing someone). If you would you like to know the origin of this blog, you can read my first entry Sharing Your Cup. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I look forward to praying for you.

Hardest Thing You've Been Through This Year - "Sharing Your Cup #4"
I sat in front of my computer on a rainy Sunday afternoon (yes, it is raining in Vancouver) and could not decide what to write for this blog entry. Then it dawned on me that lately I have had the blessing to get to know some new friends after we were asked to share "the hardest thing you've been through in the last year or so."
It might seem like an odd thing to share with strangers, but that night as the 6 of us shared our toughest obstacles, we all realized that we were not alone. It might be that all of our struggles were different, but really we were in the same boat. This world is not an easy place and we were ALL struggling in it together.
Today, I ask you to share something. If you are up for this challenge to open up and share the hardest thing you've been through in the last year or so, you may just find a sense of peace like I did. Leave your story in the comment section and just like the other Sharing Your Cup posts, at the end of the month I will do a random draw from the comments and send out a little gift to brighten up your month! As well, a few other blog friends and I will be praying for you :)
Here is this month's cheer-you-up gift. It is an 8x8 Canvass Frame and a reminder that you are never alone in your struggles when you have GOD & FRIENDS :

Share Your Cup #3
For those of you who are just joining us, welcome! We are a small community of people who pray for each other. Every month I send out a little prize/gift to one winner chosen from the comment section (just my way of blessing someone). If you would you like to know the origin of this blog, you can read my first entry Sharing Your Cup. Please take some time to write a prayer request and know that you never have to go through anything alone. We are here for each other.
This month I want to share a song that caught my attention. I love the tune and the words are so true.
I am looking forward to praying for all of you again. I hope this month some of you will share some Prayer Praises as well. We have been praying for jobs, family members, children, and just for each other in general. If you have a prayer praise, please share that with us.
My prayer praise is that my I did find a job where I feel God can use my gifts to bless people!! Thank you for all your prayers. It was a roller coaster ride for me, but I felt so good to know that I was not alone while searching.

Sharing your Cup #2
Hello for those of you who are new to this blog and welcome! This blog was created for people to share their burdens and joys so that we can all pray for each other. It is always easier when you know you are not walking alone...
Last month we had a number of friends leave comments and prayer requests. You can take a look here Sharing Your Cup . A caring community is forming and I am very excited.
This month I wanted to share my prayer request with you. I have been looking for a full-time job where I can do God's work with young children. I was employed in a very secure position last year but decided to leave it to search for God's will for my life. I have grown much spiritually, but do find at this point that I am very anxious and nervous about employment for September. I feel I have waited long enough on the Lord and NEED an answer.
Of course, of course, I understand that when God answers is not my call. So if I can ask for some prayers for patience, perseverance and wisdom to know what God wants for my life, that would be so wonderful :0) Thank you! Thank you!
Now it is your turn to share... if you leave a comment or share a prayer request, you will be entered to win a little prize! It is my way of cheering someone up this month.
This month's prize is a magnetic post-it note:

Sharing Your Cup
I run a few small businesses on-line selling crafts and craft supplies. I knew this was something I really wanted to do, but I never imagined God would use my businesses to help and bless other women.
Recently, through my sales, I have met a few women who are going through a real tough time in their lives. These ladies bought something from me and that initiated our contact, but through our communication a door opened up and we began sharing about our lives.
At first I thought I could not help them. I thought "I could listen, but I am a stranger, far away...what can I do?" But as I learned about their situation, I asked how I could pray for them and always waited to hear back. A friendship began and I prayed for these women, I realized that God has planned for these friendships to happen. As far as God is concerned, I am here to SHARE THEIR CUP.
I find it amazing that God uses ANY venue to connect people. We are all here for each other as sisters and borthers in Christ.
I ask you to SHARE YOUR CUP now. Write a prayer request in the comment section or respond to a prayer request and your name will go into a draw for these cards I made:
I sent a little "surprise" package to one of my friends I've been praying for and she told me it brighten up her day! I thought it would be nice if I could randomly pick a name from the comments and brighten that person's day :)
Thank you for sharing a prayer request. I hope this blog is the beginning of many new friendships. As written in Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
